Two of the most popular articles on this blog has been about sending free SMS to mobiles. But those two articles have been out of date. Since sending Free SMS have been an all time favorite hobby of my readers, I am doing a new post here.

One ad (pop up) on web site
Could have supported more countries
Conclusion
160by2 is easy to use and have the most desired features including showing greeting SMS on your dashboard. but supporting more countries would make them the best Free SMS site on internet.

The countries allowed include Canada, India, Indonesia, Kuwait, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Thailand, United States and Vietnam. the full list of Mobile service providers supported for these countries can be <a rel=” href=”http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/context/context-13.html”>found here

Conclusion
Yahoo allows you to send SMS from the comfort of your Mail box. It also allows you to send message from Yahoo messenger. The overall manageability is good. But more service providers would have been better.
SendSMSNow
SendSMSNow is a global free SMS provider with more countries covered. You can send individual SMS for free but for group SMS you need to buy credits.
Pros
Much more countries supported
Bulk SMS for as low as $0.01
Haven’t used this much to tell many
Cons

Conclusion
SendSMSNow is an OK SMS service. with no group SMS you are stuck with one at a time SMS. But this is the only option if you need to send SMS to the countries not supported by others.
